About Me
I'm Drew Moore, a graphic designer living in Delray Beach, Florida. I started out in print design doing posters and tape covers to promote my other career - songwriting. In the early 90's I learned HTML and began designing web sites and loved the magical medium and the ability to create dynamic graphic experiences, however limited by the technologies of the early internet. I ran a small studio in Boulder, Colorado until 2003 when I moved to south Florida and incorporated the business. These days I spend most of my time on web design and programming. The web is the most exciting, challenging and rewarding design medium I've come across, and while I'll still produce a steady stream of logos, brochures, ads, posters, etc., I spend most of my time working on my programming skills and experimenting with new technologies.
Work History
I've freelanced and done contract work for much off my career, but I have held a few legitimate jobs along the way. Here are some of the least embarrassing ones:
Costa Cruise Lines
Web Developer, 2005-2007, 2009
In 2005 Costa brought me in as a production artist for a two week contract, and I wound up as their sole North American web developer. I built a couple websites for them, designed a couple logos, and took control of their email marketing. Most recently I built a new portal website to service the needs of their travel agents.
Delray Design Group
Creative Director, 2004-2005
This job was a blast. I produced about 50 websites, 15-20 logos, 12 brochures and about 100 ads in the short time I worked there. I work really well under pressure, and this was a chance for me to test my own limits. My first design job after moving to Florida, it was also a good way to get a local reputation going and some name recognition. I established Aspen Grove after leaving DDG.
Indra's Net
Web Designer, 2001-2003
The finest company I've worked for. Indra's is Colorado's largest independently owned ISP. The design department is headed up by Jeremy Verne, a very talented designer. When I was there it was just Jeremy and myself, sharing a project manager. Great job - great town (Boulder) - great staff.
Music
I’m a folk and blues songwriter and a classically trained guitarist and cellist, currently performing with the Broward Symphony Orchestra. I spent the better part of my twenties in music schools, performing and traveling. I studied in Spain for 2 years while playing solo blues gigs and with my band, La Ruzafa Blues y Coplillas Band. I played cello in the Estes Park Orchestra in Colorado.
